Group & Private Students: - Full payment of tuition and fees is due before or on the first day of a course/level/package of hours.
- Language Plus offers complementary services to support student learning: Tandem Cafe to practice conversational language skills and Review Sessions to answer any grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary questions students may have from the classes they attended that week.
- Language Plus reserves the right to remove any student who, because of their conduct or attitude, interferes with the progress of the class. For those students who appear not to be taking their learning and practice seriously, to the degree that it is obviously interfering with their progress, a Language Plus staff member will request to have a conversation to help determine the reason behind it and find a solution.
- Pricing is subject to change due to either 1) A school-wide price increase, 2) If the number of students in an intensive group class drops below 3 students for a consistent period of 3 weeks. In which case, a member of the Language Plus staff will discuss other options with the student, or 3) If the number of students in a customized group class drops to 1 student for a consistent period of 3 weeks. In which case, a member of the Language Plus staff will discuss the option of a private class.
Private Students:
- A discount package of 12 private or semi-private hours is available to students. Students must complete the 12 hours within a specific period of time. This is determined by the amount of class hours they take each week:
4 hrs scheduled/week -> 6 weeks to complete
3 hrs scheduled/week -> 8 weeks to complete
2 hrs scheduled/week -> 10 weeks to complete
1.5 hrs scheduled/week -> 12 weeks to complete
1 hr scheduled/week -> 15 weeks to complete
*Students have until the Friday of the last week in the designated time period to use the 12 hours
- Students are given 3 cancellations and 3 opportunities to reschedule within any 12-hour package.
- There is no limit to the number of discount packages one student can purchase. Once a student completes one 12-hour package, they are able to purchase the next package.
- Notice of at least 6 hours is required to cancel a private class, otherwise it is considered a Late Cancellation and there is no refund or make-up class provided. A learner who makes a Late Cancellation for a 1-2 hour class is charged for 1 hour; for a 3-hour class is charged for 1.5 hours; and for a 4-hour class is charged for 2 hours. If students do not notify us at all, this is considered a âNo Showâ and they are charged for the full length of the class.
- A learner who needs to stop classes before completing their 12-hour discount package may apply their remaining balance to future classes for up to 6 months from their Last Date Charged (LDC). This balance is known as the studentâs âcredit.â Upon the studentâs return, the new âcompletion dateâ will be determined based on the number of remaining hours and hours per week the student will take. Students may choose to transfer their credit to another person (e.g. friend, family member) instead of using the credit themselves. The same conditions apply.
- Students who cannot commit to a 12-hour package for financial or availability reasons, may purchase a smaller amount of lessons (3 hours minimum) at the higher hourly rate.
Group Students:
- Students in our Intensive English and Intensive Spanish Programs (IEP & ISP respectively) pay for a full level (4, 8, or 12 weeks depending on how many hours they are studying per week). Students who are unable to pay for a level in full may make 2 or 3 payments at a higher per-hour cost. IEP & ISP classes must have a minimum of 3 students.
- âCustomized groupsâ are customized classes with 3 or more students. Students who come to us together as a customized group (e.g. through a company, or group of friends), pay a predetermined group hourly rate, depending on their specific needs, class size, class location and/or requested schedule. Individual students who are placed together in a customized group by Language Plus pay for a minimum of 4 weeks at a time.
- We do not offer make-up classes for absences for group classes. If students miss class, they may inform their teacher and s/he will send them extra work to practice the content of the missed class. Students are also welcome to take a private class (for a fee) for one-on-one tutoring time with a teacher.
- A learner who must stop classes before completing the hours covered by the most recent payment, may apply their remaining balance to future courses/classes for up to 6 months from their Last Date Charged (LDC). This balance is known as the studentâs âcredit.â Students may choose to transfer their credit to another person (e.g. friend, family member) instead of using the credit themselves.
- If Language Plus cancels a course, for any reason, prior to the course beginning, a full refund is issued. If the course is canceled for any reason while the course is in progress, a refund will be given for any remaining hours. In both cases, a student may choose to convert those hours into private classes, at a discounted rate. Please note: Either of those scenarios is very rare and would likely be due to insufficient enrollment.
