Language Plus and our teachers strongly believe in using both the direct method and communicative approach. This means that only English is used in the classroom (‘direct’) and learners are the ones mostly speaking and communicating, 60-80% of the time in class (‘communicative’). Our classes are intentionally small to ensure you have many opportunities to actively practice in the class and receive individual attention. Your English skills (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening and Grammar) can develop faster more effectively and in an integrated way.

Cultural Exchange

People who take classes at Language Plus say their favorite thing is meeting multicultural students and travelers from around the U.S. and the world and speaking English together! Our students range in age from 17 to 50+ and there is always a diverse group of people attending classes at Language Plus. Their reasons for wanting to improve their English range from to have a better experience of general life and culture in the United States, to strengthening specific skills needed for professional or academic purposes. No matter why you choose to come to Language Plus, you will undoubtedly enjoy and benefit from the network of friendships you develop throughout your time with us.

Every student takes the Language Plus placement exam prior to entering class. The exam, which tests your Speaking, Listening, Grammar, Reading, and Writing skills takes 30-45 minutes to complete. From this test, we place you in the correct class level. As part of the placement process, students together with a Language Plus team member will set realistic goals to make sure you achieve your personal language development objectives.

Language Certificate

When you complete your course of study, you will receive an official Language Plus Certificate of Completion showing the number of hours or weeks you attended.
