I grew up on the East Coast, and was hesitant when my husband told me about a business opportunity in El Paso. I almost resisted when he brought up the idea, but then I thought it through. Things in New Jersey were getting a bit stagnant, and I was way too comfortable with the routine. We needed something new to shake things up, so we packed our bags, threw our daughters in the trunk (just kidding…), and relocated our lives. It was the best decision we’ve ever made. Here are 5 reasons I love El Paso, and check out the Summer evens calendar below!
The Sun City
Literally. At least 80% of the year, the sun is shining. Coming from someone who gets seasonal depression during the winter months, this is a huge plus! Why didn’t I move west sooner?!
Education
The University of El Paso ranks as a top university in the U.S. They have an excellent public education system and a number of quality vocational schools.
Art & Music Scene
The Department of Museums and Cultural Affairs spearheaded a renewed vigor in public arts projects. New murals and art pieces can be found all over the city. In addition, live music every night, at a different venue is common.
Culture
Just a hop-skip away is la Ciudad de Juarez, Mexico, making El Paso one of the most diverse, multi-lingual cities in the states with beautiful people and beautiful culture.
There’s Always Something to Do!
El Paso has a small city vibe with big city events. There’s always something to do! Check out the calendar below to see what we have going on Summer 2017.
